Dear Parents and Guardians:

Welcome to the 2021-22 school year! The first day of our upcoming school year will take place on Monday September 13. Our continued commitment to fostering resilience, perseverance, hard work, empathy, and the ability to effectively prepare our students will undoubtedly help our students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Our staff at PS 306 will continue to develop better readers and academic scholars across all content areas. We will also continue working diligently to meet the diverse needs of our students through small group instruction across all grade levels, school-wide implementation of our new literacy curriculum – “Into Reading”, and emphasize meaningful, timely feedback to help students work towards academic mastery.

Covid Safety precautions will be in place with social distancing guidelines and all students will be required to wear a mask except to eat breakfast or lunch meals. More Information will be forthcoming……..

As we are planning to re-open in September, our work will also focus on our Schoolwide Positive Behavior Intervention program called CKCC (Competent Kids Caring Community).This program helps our students to develop tools with self-regulation, character development & emotional wellness that will be taught through lessons by our teachers and guidance counselors. We know a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child’s education. As partners, we share the responsibility for our children’s success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities.

Parent handbooks will be available in September. As a reminder, start time for all students will be 8:00 am and dismissal is at 2:20 pm, Monday to Friday. Your child’s daily program will consist of the following:
Instructional Programming- All students will receive instruction in Reading/Writing, Math, Social Studies and Science.
Enrichment Programming- All students in Kindergarten through 5th grade will receive Visual Arts, Dance, Physical Education & Health, and Technology.
